Interesting Facts About Katas Raj Temples,Pakistan(One of the most sacred locations for Hindus)

Katas Raj Temples are Located near Kallar Kahar and can be reached via M2 Motorway.
There are total 7 temples at this location.
This site also has a Buddhist Stupa, a few havelis, a couple of medieval sanctuaries, and some relatively new sanctuaries.
Other than being a famous religious site for Hindus, it is also a famous historical and tourist attraction in Pakistan.
The walls of the temples show the signs of wear and tear. Although, the government has taken steps to preserve these sites, more needs to be done.
According to Hindu Beliefs, The pond of the temples’ was created from Shiva’s teardrops.
The temples are located at an altitude of 2,000 feet. They are surrounded by the hills of Salt Range.
The greenery surrounds the entire area and presents a spectacular sight.
The Hindu population living in Pakistan as well as from India, visits these temples throughout the year.
The Government of Pakistan carried out major restoration work in 2006. Further improvements were announced in 2017.
Katas Raj Temples have become a famous site for shooting of movies, dramas and for magazine photo shoots.
Katas Raj Temples were built in the 7th century. Needless to say, these temples have stood the test of time and are still present after 1500 years.
Hindus consider Katas Raj Temples to be the 2nd most sacred place in Punjab. The first most sacred place being the Jwalamukhi in Himachal Pradesh.
The former Indian Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani visited these temples in 2005.
In 2012, the water level of the pond started decreasing because of the water usage by a nearby cement factory and also because of the plantation of the eucalyptus trees in the area. The factory was closed down by the government and the water level was back to normal.

Facts About Rohtas Fort,PAKISTAN

Rohtas Fort was built during the time of Sher Shah Suri between the years 1541 and 1548.
It is one of largest forts in the subcontinent. And it was one of the most formidable forts of its time.
This fort was never stormed by an army and it is remarkably intact.
Rohtas Fort is known for its massive defensive walls and monumental gateways.
About a few centuries ago it was used for a whole army to enter and leave including horses and elephants.
Rohtas Fort is surrounded by the lush green landscape.
Qilal Rohtas was included in the World Heritage Sites by the UNESCO. It was included in the list of World Heritage Sites in the year 1997.
UNESCO described the Rohtas Fort as an “exceptional example of Muslim military architecture of South and Central Asia.”
The exact location of Rohtas Fort is eight kilometers south of Grand Trunk Road near Dina city.JEHLUM,PAKISTAN.
This fort is a fantastic place to explore history and to study the architecture and heritage of the area.
Every year, thousands of tourists visit Rohtas Fort. However, more tourism can be boosted by developing the area and by renovating the fort.
Rohtas Fort is situated on a hill that overlooks a gorge where Kahan river meets a water stream known as Parnal Khas.
This is a wonderful place to have some great photo-shoots.
Rohtas Fort is about 300 feet above the surroundings and it covers total area of 12.63 acres.
